P4 - Law and our Legal System

We have read and discussed laws that govern our society. Philosopher John Locke believed that we are born with the rights of life, liberty and property and the government is charged with the protection of these rights? What do you think about it? Does having laws create more freedom or less? Should you be able to exchange songs online without paying any money to the artist?
