U.S. Constitution
The U.S. Constitution of the United States is the plan of government for our country. It is the supreme law of the land and was adopted in 1789. Much debate and compromise was necessary to develop the U.S. Constitution. It is still in use today.
Today in Citizenship class we learned about a man named Asa Phillip Randolph and the constitutional convention. Randolphwas a man who helped people with civil and worker's rights. The constitution guarantees citizens the rights that Randolph worked for. The constitutional convention was a meeting where the founding fathers came together to write the Constitution for the United States. Some of them were elders and many of them were young. The constitution that they came us with is the same one that the government still use today.
